Taking this action will eradicate the use of plastic bags since the reusable bags are robust enough to handle the weekly task.

As Hanny Wadsworth, co director explained, “The move towards reducing the reliance on plastic bags is gaining momentum, and a project such as this is a step in the right direction. FootprintBags came about due to the lack of a convenient, practical alternative to single use plastic bags. The design aim was to produce a product which wouldn’t sit alongside the other reusable bags which are not ideal, convenient and robust.”

Sainsbury’s have removed their bags from the packing areas at the checkouts, M&S are charging for their bags and now the Welsh government has taken the bull by the horns and implemented an across the board 5p charge on all single use carrier bags. Footprint Bag realised the problem why many reusable bags were not being adopted was down to practicality, compactness, style, convenience and durability. Obviously, cost is a factor in the current economic time, so Footprint Bag products are designed to address these issues and eradicate the use of plastic bags, at an affordable cost to the customer.
